Climate

Suwon weather in July is in early of summer as well as monsoon season. Temperature is expected to range from 22℃ to 29℃. Relative humidity is 68 – 75%. July precipitation are likely to have 133 mm for 13 rainy days. In summer Suwon Culture Night will take place at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Hwaseong Temporary Palace, the areas are decorated with media art installations. Every corner of the fortress offers a historical and cultural experience to visitors.

Electricity

The standard voltage in Korea is 220 volts at 60 Hertz, and the outlet has two round holes. You can purchase a multi-voltage travel adapter at the airport, retail stores, or convenience stores.

Currency and Credit Cards

The unit of Korean currency is Won (₩). Foreign currency can be exchanged into Korean Won (KRW) at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money exchangers. Credit cards, including VISA, American Express, Diners Club, Master Card and JCB, are accepted at major hotels, department stores, and restaurants.

Tax and Tipping

Value Added Tax (VAT) is levied on most goods at a standard rate of 10%. In major tourist spots, a 10% VAT plus a 10% service charge is added to the bills. Tipping is not necessary in hotels or taxis.

WiFi Service

Internet service is often provided in public places such as airports, train stations, and bus terminals in Korea. Fast food restaurants, cafes, or stores are also good places to access to WiFi. It is of course available on site during the conference.

Travel Insurance

The organizers take no liability for personal injuries or loss or damage to property belonging to the participants, either during or as a result of the event. Participants are advised to take out proper travel and health insurance before leaving their home country.

Korea Travel Hotline & Complaint Center

Operated by the Korea Tourism Organization, this is a toll-free helpline offering tourist information and interpretation services that also serves as a tourism complaint center. It is available in various languages including English, Japanese, and Chinese. Call 1330 for any travel problem or visit the tourist complaint center. 

COVID19 Related

For those arriving from outside Korea, COVID self-isolation will not be required for those who are fully vaccinated (either in Korea or oversea) and show no sign of symptoms. However, they should have negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate within 3 days or Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) result within 1 days for boarding. They need to enter related information and obtain a QR code by visiting the website. They are also required to have an additional test (PCR) within 1 days after arrival at airport or near the place of stay. (This guideline is released on August 1, 2022. The condition and procedure may change.)
